Christian Ponder Heisman!?
Discussion started by Samantha Fiola , on 19 April 12:39 PM
Is this outcome actually in the realm of possibility? I love him, but does the nation? Seems odd to go from the shadows of lesser quarterbacks throughout the season to in the spotlight in the offseason, no?

Come on now. Ponder is a great QB, but Heisman? Seriously? FSU fans should probably be focusing on beating Miami and Florida before worrying about Ponder becoming the Heisman.

I know you guys will probably disagree with this and maybe I have my homer glasses on, but I really think Terrelle Pryor has a legitimate shot of taking the Heisman this year. A lot of Heismans live and die by how their team performs. Ohio State will probably be good for at least another 10 win season this year. If FSU goes out and wins 8 or 9 games it may not be enough.

Don't sleep on Jacory Harris. He had a few rough games and threw way too many interceptions, but he still played well and had Heisman talk for much of last season. I am with Bryan (even though I hate the Gators, hehe) in thinking that Ponder is a great QB, but there are a lot of other players out there such as Harris that may actually be better.

Harris definitely has a chance, but I think it will all come down to how well either FSU or Miami as a team performs. I don't think either one will put up ridiculous stats that some QBs have put up in the past like that QB for Texas Tech, Harrell, who threw some insane amount of touchdowns. I think it will come down to if FSU or Miami can win 10+ games this season.

I agree Sammy. It's going to come down to team wins and losses like usual. We all know Tebow won it with a UF team that lost a few games, but I don't think that is going to happen this year. I am a huge FSU fan and think Ponder has a chance, but not sure if FSU can get to 10+ wins this season. If FSU can get to 10 wins then I think Ponder has an even greater chance due to the fact that he led FSU to it's first 10 win season in awhile and would probably seem even more impressive than a guy that came in and led a team to a 10 win season that had a 10 win season last year.
