This week appears to be ripe with opportunity. We're late enough into the season that teams have formed reputations and like every year sometimes their stats don't warrant those reputations. That's why I'm calling this week, Upset Week. If you have a decent sportsbook (unlike myself), you should be given decent odds on the games below
MY PICKS
MONEYLINE- ASU (ASU vs WASH) +110
Arizona State should have no problems handling Washington. They have one of the best (if not the best) rushing defenses in the league. Although Washington's strong suit isn't running the ball, it does comprise about 40% of their game. Not this time. 40-24 ASU
MONEYLINE - Michigan State (MSU vs MICH) +170
Denard Who? Yes, I'm asking who he is and given enough time everyone else will ask as well. He's been a star against the likes of Connecticut, Indiana, and Notre Dame but that isn't saying much. As a rule of thumb, I tend to bet against Heisman candidates on bad teams. They get too much national attention and wind up swaying the line. 36-32 MSU
MONEYLINE - LSU (LSU vs FLA) +220
Okay, statistically, both teams are awful. Who's more awful. I guess we'll find out tonight but I believe LSU has proven its defense more than Florida has proven its offense. The spread is around 7, which is probably an absurd difference in a game likely to combine for less than 30 points. Given that fact, I'll take LSU at plus 220 and hope for a fumble to sway the final score. 21-13 LSU
MONEYLINE - FAU (FAU vs ULM) +120
I was trying to find out why Louisiana Monroe was favored in this game and I honestly can't find a very good reason. Their competition has been much more difficult but they've been creamed by all of them. Expect the worst offense in the country to get handled by the slightly less worst offence in the country. 22-14 FAU
